Innovation Facilitation Specialist
Job description
The Innovation Facilitation Specialist plays a pivotal role in Industry Creation Unit by fostering a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship and research commercialization within the institution. This position is responsible for identifying and nurturing innovative ideas, facilitating strategic partnerships with industry and innovation stakeholders, and supporting the development and incubation of high-impact projects and start-ups. The role also entails coordinating capacity-building initiatives, managing intellectual property processes, and developing frameworks and systems that promote innovation, knowledge transfer, and the commercialization of research outputs across the institution.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and promote innovation opportunities by conducting research, surveys and stakeholder engagements to determine areas requiring innovative solutions and to identify high-impact projects and ideas.
- Facilitate and strengthen partnerships with universities, innovation hubs, industry partners and other stakeholders to support research commercialization and collaborative innovation initiatives.
- Coordinate the identification, incubation and development of promising start-ups and innovative projects, ensuring they receive the necessary support to progress from concept to implementation.
- Develop and implement frameworks, policies and systems that foster innovation, entrepreneurship and effective collaboration among key stakeholders.
- Manage and maintain databases of innovation projects, resources, intellectual property, alumni and stakeholders to support programme planning and decision-making.
- Design and deliver capacity-building programmes, workshops and mentorship initiatives that enhance innovation, entrepreneurship and research commercialization capabilities.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on the performance of innovation projects, partnerships and incubation programmes against established goals and performance indicators.
- Lead the management of intellectual property processes, including the development of IP policies, due diligence, documentation and registration of innovations.
- Ensure compliance with intellectual property laws, regulations and institutional policies by working closely with legal and compliance functions.
- Provide strategic advice and regular reports to management on innovation performance, emerging opportunities and strategies for strengthening the innovation ecosystem.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship or equivalent.
- A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in innovation management, research commercialization, project incubation, intellectual property management or a related field.

IT Manager
Job description
The IT Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the institution's information technology systems, infrastructure and digital resources effectively support the achievement of organizational objectives. This position is responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining secure and reliable IT infrastructure, managing information systems and data and overseeing the delivery of technology projects and services. This role entails developing and enforcing IT policies and procedures, strengthening cybersecurity and data protection measures, coordinating user training and capacity-building initiatives, managing IT resources and vendor relationships and driving technological innovation and digital transformation across the institution.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the institution's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, applications and connectivity, to ensure the availability, reliability and efficiency of information systems.
- Assess organizational technology needs and design, implement, and upgrade IT infrastructure solutions that support institutional objectives and operational requirements.
- Develop and implement cybersecurity measures, data security protocols, backup systems and disaster recovery plans to safeguard institutional information and digital assets.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise IT projects by defining project scope, objectives, budgets, timelines and risk management strategies to ensure successful project delivery.

Operations Registrar x2
Job description
The Operations Registrar oversees registry and administrative functions across institutional projects, including managing records, coordinating registrations and supporting stakeholder communication. This role also coordinates budgeting processes, monitors project expenditures and conducts monitoring and evaluation activities. In addition, it prepares operational reports and contributes to strategic planning through data analysis, stakeholder engagement and performance tracking to ensure efficient and accountable project delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the registry function, ensuring the maintenance of accurate and comprehensive records for all projects and participants.
- Coordinate the registration and onboarding processes for students and researchers participating in projects and programmes.

Job description
The Business Model Development Specialist develops and evaluates business models through market research, stakeholder engagement and feasibility analysis to support innovation and enterprise growth. Th role includes designing value propositions, preparing financial projections and funding strategies and ensuring business viability through data-driven insights. It also involves collaborating with stakeholders, coordinating training programmes and producing reports and recommendations to guide decision-making and implementation.
Key responsibilities
- Create business models by analysing industry reports and competitor offerings to identify gaps and opportunities, conducting customer research through surveys and interviews, and developing customer personas and value propositions to ensure market relevance.
- Develop and test value propositions with target audiences, refine offerings based on user feedback and ensure alignment with market needs and customer expectations.
- Develop financial models to estimate revenue, costs and profitability and support evidence-based decision-making for business model viability.
- Conduct feasibility analysis by defining project scope and objectives and assessing technical, operational, regulatory and legal requirements for implementation.
